Acceptability by family and friends can lead to a skewed perception of what is and is not acceptable when it comes to substance use. Oftentimes, students using drugs feel that they need to either take the drugs in order to please those around them or at least stay quiet about it to not cause disruption and conflict. Either way, for some, drug use seems a completely helpless and fear-ridden state of living where escape is nearly impossible. It is important for students to know learn about resources that are available to help them escape or to help friends to escape the living nightmare of drug addiction.
