WebLessons™ is a registered trademark of Learners Online, Inc. All users are prohibited from downloading, copying, modifying, distributing, transmitting, displaying, creating new works from, or in any other way exploiting the contents of this site, in whole or in part, except for non-profit personal or educational use, in accordance with subscription agreements.
All copyrighted work from external sources is similarly protected by its copyright holders.
WebLessons™ does not and will not circumvent login requirements and access controls on restricted information. All external resources we structure our online learning activities around are publicly available. The Information We Collect
Visitors may access the public WebLessons™ site without disclosing any personal information. Authorized Users (Subscribers)
Authorized users of WebLessons™ include school officials, teachers, students, and others who are granted password-protected access to the WebLessons™ e-learning system and instructional materials. Our policy is to collect the minimum amount of personally identifiable information necessary according to the functionality of the system. Such functionality includes:
Personally identifiable information needed to complete these functions varies from one user type to the next, but may include first and last name, email address, grade level, and school and district name, and state. Other personally identifiable information related to user accounts are not available online.
Learners Online will never sell or share any user information to any third party, except as compelled by a court of competent jurisdiction, and upon notification to the user, if approved by said court.
Learners Online is in full compliance with the statutes and requirements of Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA).
According to the design of WebLessons™, student profiles may include first and last name, but this is not a system requirement. Schools may, in accordance with their own student information policies, substitute student initials, aliases, or ID numbers. No student contact information (such as a school or public email address) is included in the profile, and no other system user except the teacher has the ability to make direct contact with his or her own students.
WebLessons™ is accessible from any Web browser. Parents have the right and ability to sign in using their child's username and password to review their child's profile and completed work. Parents have the right to ask their child's teacher or school administrator to amend or remove the child's profile; in all such cases, we require school officials to do so.
Learners Online is concerned about the security of personal information. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
